A New Year
It was New Years Eve and we were excited because we were going to be together. I don't remember everything we did but I think we missed a movie and he told me last minute he wanted to be home early in case his son came home early, which no self respecting teenager would do, but I understood and supported him so we decided we had to have ice cream. There wasn't much open but when he wanted ice cream he could not be stopped and after driving all around the only place we could find open was a McDonalds. He was apologetic but I was delighted. I think we were the only ones there, eating giant chocolate sundaes, and it was perfect. We couldn't believe how happy we were being there that night with each other after all the New Years Eves we had spent with other people, in other places, doing all kinds of things. We both loved doing the different thing, the simple thing, it is so easy to be happy when you love being together, who knew life could be so easy, and we decided we should go back every year. That night I went home and crawled into bed and he called at the stroke of midnight, whispering words of love in my ear.
